1. Who we are

MyGavel™ (referred to as "MyGavel," "we," "us," or "our") operates the MyGavel web application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). MyGavel is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. See our Terms of Service.

2. Information you provide

Account information: email address, name, password (stored as a salted hash), and authentication identifiers when you sign in through a supported provider such as Google.
Case intake information: the facts, parties, dates, and documents you enter or upload while preparing drafts.
Uploaded files: documents you upload to your case workspace or attach to an issue report.
Billing information: when you subscribe, our payment processor collects and processes your payment details. We receive a subscription status and last-four card digits — never the full card number.
Communications: messages you send to us (support requests, issue reports, feedback).

3. Information we collect automatically

Standard server logs (IP address, timestamps, request paths, user agent).
Aggregated product usage such as feature interactions and error events.
Cookies and similar technologies used to keep you signed in and remember preferences. See our Cookie Policy.

4. How we use information

To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
To generate the drafts and forms you request.
To authenticate you, prevent fraud, and secure our infrastructure.
To process subscription payments and issue receipts.
To respond to your support and issue reports.
To send transactional emails (e.g., verification, password reset, billing).

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

Service providers that host our infrastructure, process payments, deliver email, and provide AI compute — each bound by contractual data-protection obligations.
Legal process when we are required to comply with a valid subpoena, court order, or other legal obligation.
Protection of rights to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
With your consent for any purpose you expressly approve.

6. Data security

We host on access-controlled infrastructure with row-level security, private storage buckets, and encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Only the reporting user and our administrators can access files uploaded through issue reports. See Security.

7. Data retention

We keep your account and case data for as long as your account is active. You may delete individual documents, uploads, and cases at any time. When you close your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations, or resolve disputes.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@mygavel.net. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

9. Children

MyGavel is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact privacy@mygavel.net and we will delete it.

10. International users

MyGavel is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.

11. AI processing

MyGavel uses third-party AI models to help generate drafts. Content you submit for drafting is processed by those providers under contractual terms that prohibit training on your content. See our AI Disclaimer.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects when this version took effect. Material changes will be highlighted in-app or by email.
