MyGavel is committed to making our platform accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. Access to the courts should not depend on your ability to see, hear, or use a mouse.

Standards we work toward

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG defines requirements for making web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more usable for everyone.

Semantic HTML landmarks and heading structure for screen readers
Keyboard-navigable menus, forms, and dialogs
Focus-visible states on all interactive elements
Sufficient color contrast in both light and dark themes
Alt text on informative images and ARIA labels on icon buttons
Responsive layouts that adapt to zoom up to 200% without loss of content

Known limitations

Some legacy court PDFs we replicate are visually complex, and their layout may not read cleanly with a screen reader. We are working to improve narration of these documents.
